Battery Certifications, Coverage & Compliance

Certified, safe and compliant batteries for OEM projects and global shipping. Multiple certifications across every product line.

Every product line carries multiple certifications for OEM projects and international shipping, including ISO 9001 and CE — and the applicability of each mark, such as UN38.3 for lithium cells, is set out line by line below. Certificates are available for buyer due diligence. The sections below set out what each certification covers, which product lines it applies to, and how to request the documents.

Which certification applies to the line you are buying?

This table is built from the standards declared on each of our model pages, not from a marketing list — so it also shows where a document does not apply, which is the part buyers most often have to discover for themselves.

UN38.3 is a transport test for lithium cells and batteries under section 38.3 of the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria. An alkaline or silver-oxide primary cell is not a lithium battery, so there is no UN38.3 report for it — and if a supplier offers you one for an LR or SR cell, that document did not come from a test on that cell. This is the single most common documentation mismatch we see in buyer due-diligence, so we state our applicability explicitly rather than leave it to be discovered.

Document by Stage

Which documents do I need at each stage of buying?

Buyers rarely need all nine certificates at once. Qualification, product approval, listing and shipping each ask for a different subset — this table maps the buying stage to the document we issue for it, so you can request the right file the first time.

Market rules change. The table reflects the documents buyers ask us for most often — tell us your destination market and we confirm the current file set for your models.

Market Access

What does each market require, and can you supply it?

Customs and retailers ask different questions in each region. This table shows what importers in each market typically request for a battery consignment and what we provide against it — factory direct, so the documents come from the producing plant rather than a trading desk.

Africa & Southeast AsiaISO 9001 evidence, third-party inspection and UN38.3 for lithium cellsCertificates and SGS / PONY inspection reports on request
The file set also differs by product category — see what medical devices, IoT & sensors and retail private label programmes need.
What travels with the consignment rather than the certificate file — declarations, freight terms, duties — is set out in the shipping policy, and the certificate questions buyers ask most are collected in the battery FAQ.

Models outside this list can be added to the declaration programme for your project — tell us the cell and the destination market. For lithium cells add the UN38.3 report, and for button cells sold in the United States see US button battery packaging law.

UL

Is your battery UL certified?

Selected battery lines are UL-certified to meet North American consumer-safety standards — a key trust marker for US and Canadian importers. The certificate names the specific models it covers, so you can check the file against the model you intend to buy.

What UL Covers

Safety testing for the specific line, including leakage, over-temperature and cell-level safety.

Which Lines

Certification is per product line — tell us the exact cell and we confirm UL coverage for your project.

Shipping Safety

Are your lithium batteries UN38.3 tested?

Our lithium button and cylindrical cells are tested to UN38.3 for safe air and sea transport, across all 8 required tests. The test summary and the transport documentation are issued with each shipment, which is the paperwork freight forwarders and customs ask for on lithium consignments.

Maritime and air transport certification is available on request — request the UN38.3 test report with your inquiry.

IEC 60086

Do you manufacture to IEC 60086?

Our button cells are manufactured and tested to the IEC 60086 series for primary batteries. That standard fixes the dimensions, designation and discharge-test conditions for each cell size, which is why an IEC number is the reference buyers use when comparing a replacement against the original.

Battery characteristics data sheets per model are available, compliant with EU Regulation 2023/1542.

Environmental

Are your batteries mercury-free and EU compliant?

We produce 0% mercury alkaline button cells and provide the compliance documentation required for the EU market. EU rules restrict mercury in primary cells, and the declaration of conformity confirms that the limit is met for the models we ship.

0% Mercury (Hg)

We produce 0% mercury alkaline button cells, in line with modern environmental standards.

EU Regulation 2023/1542

Battery information is provided in compliance with EU Regulation 2023/1542, with CE and RoHS documentation available.

FAQ

What do buyers ask about battery certifications?

Which certifications do your batteries have?
We hold ISO 9001, ISO 45001, BSCI, UL (selected product lines), UN38.3 (lithium cells), CE, RoHS, SGS and PONY, plus maritime and air transport certification for safe worldwide shipping.
How do I get the UN38.3 test report?
Request the UN38.3 test report along with your OEM or wholesale inquiry. For lithium cells we provide the transport test report needed for air and sea freight.
Are your batteries UL certified?
UL covers specific product lines. Tell us the exact cell or pack for your project and we confirm UL coverage and provide the relevant documentation.
What is IEC 60086?
IEC 60086 is the international primary-battery standard covering dimensions, electrical performance and safety. Our button and cylindrical cells are manufactured and tested to this series.
Can you provide CE / RoHS documents?
Yes. For the EU market we provide CE and RoHS documentation, plus battery information sheets in line with EU Regulation 2023/1542.
Which certificates do I need for my market?
It depends on where you list the product. The EU needs a Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 declaration per model plus CE and RoHS; the US needs UN38.3 for lithium transport and child-resistant packaging for button cells; air and sea freight always needs the MSDS, and lithium cells also carry the UN38.3 summary (alkaline and silver-oxide cells are non-dangerous goods and have no UN38.3 report). Tell us your market and we confirm the file set for the models you plan to order.
Do you issue a declaration of conformity for every model?
Yes — 26 models in the current range each carry their own numbered declaration (format TQ-EUDOC-<model>-<date>). The list below shows every model and its reference number, so you can check coverage before you order.
How do I get the documents for a model before ordering?
Send us the model list for your project and we return the current revisions of the certificates, the declaration of conformity, the MSDS and the UN38.3 report, together with the model list each document covers.
Certificate Library

Which certification documents can I download?

Full certification files are available for your qualification review. Request the certificates and test reports for the lines you are assessing, and we send the current revisions together with the model list each document covers.

Certification and packaging law are two different things. For the child-resistant packaging and warning-label requirements that apply to button cell products sold in the United States, see US button battery packaging law.
