Shipping Policy
How orders leave our plant: the shipping options we use, the documents that travel with the goods, and what happens between production and delivery.
The terms below describe how we ship battery orders. The order confirmation issued for each sale states the delivery term, the port or airport and the schedule for that order, and it governs where the two differ.
Shipping methods
Which method fits depends on volume and urgency, and we quote both options with every order:
- Courier (DHL / FedEx / UPS) — for samples, artwork approvals and small trial orders. Delivered door to door with tracking.
- Air freight — for urgent volume orders. Faster transit, higher cost per kilogram, and lithium cells need the air documents below.
- Sea freight (LCL or FCL) — the economical choice for full orders and mixed containers. Suitable for alkaline, zinc-carbon and lithium cells alike with the transport documents in place.
We ship from China and can quote EXW, FOB, CIF or DDP terms so you can compare the landed cost. Tell us the destination port or door address and we will include it in the quotation.
Documents that travel with the shipment
Every shipment leaves with the paperwork your customs broker and your compliance file need:
- Commercial invoice and packing list
- EU declaration of conformity — referencing EU Regulation 2023/1542 and the IEC 60086 series, with a declaration number per model
- MSDS — the material safety data sheet for the chemistry shipped
- UN38.3 transport documentation — required for air and sea freight of lithium cells; alkaline and silver-oxide cells are non-dangerous goods and this test does not apply to them
- Bill of lading or air waybill — issued by the forwarder, with the container or flight details
The full document set is described on our EU battery compliance page, and the model-level reference numbers are listed on each model page.
Packaging and palletising
Cells are packed to survive the journey as well as the shelf. Standard options are bulk cartons, blister cards and printed boxes; cartons are labelled with the model, quantity and lot, and pallets are shrink-wrapped and strapped on request. If you need mixed pallets for a distributor or retail chain, tell us the split with the order so we can build them before dispatch.
Lead times and dispatch
Lead time is confirmed per order, because it depends on whether the model is in stock and whether artwork or packaging is being produced for the first time. Two rules apply to every order:
- Stocked models dispatch once the order and payment terms are confirmed.
- New packaging or new models start production after you approve the artwork proof, and the schedule is written into the order confirmation.
Tracking and delivery
When the goods leave, we send the tracking number or the forwarder's booking reference with the shipping documents. Delivery itself is handled by the carrier or forwarder, and the delivery term in the order confirmation decides who arranges insurance, freight and import clearance.
Shortages, damage and customs
If a shipment arrives short or damaged, contact us as soon as it is received with photos of the cartons and the packing list. We investigate with the forwarder and correct what is confirmed as a shipping or packing error on our side. Duties and import taxes are set by the destination country and are normally the buyer's responsibility unless the order is quoted DDP.
Batteries by air
Lithium cells are the category that attracts the most questions, because they are regulated differently from alkaline cells. The rules for carry-on and checked baggage, and for commercial air freight, are summarised in our guide: Can you bring batteries on a plane?
Questions about a shipment
Send the order number or the model and quantity and we will check the status with the forwarder. Email sales@aaaoemfactory.com or message +86 139 2270 2227.
